Small engines video from Ron

10 Jan 2017 18:04 - 10 Jan 2017 18:06 #1 by TracyG
We humans are visual animals. We always like to "see" things. So, I found this youtube video from Ron Hatton, from years back. It's straightforward, here Ron is talking up Grooving the small engines like lawnmowers, etc. Some of you will remember Martin, "Ystervark" in South Africa. He Grooved I think it was 5 different cars about a year ago, all successfully. Then he discovered lawnmowers, in his last post or two--and we haven't heard from Ystervark since!

I don't know, but what Ron Hatton says here, might be why!

I followed this advice: my first Groove was on my Dad's mower (I live in an apartment). It turned out so well that he asked if I could do his snowblower as well. (I haven't yet, but it's on the agenda).

The mower - it took longer to take apart and put back together than it did to groove, and I was able to open the spark plug up to over double what Honda says it should be at. there's no more blue smoke at startup, and Dad's happy to not have to haul on the starter rope as hard or as far to get it running. I'd love to be able to offer fuel economy numbers, like extended runtime, but he doesn't really time how long it takes him to mow the yard or how many times he has to fill the mower. Saving his shoulder and the planet is all I was looking for.

is all you need for training.

blowers, mowers, 4 wheelers and probably personal watercraft...let's make anything with an engine groovy, folks!
