Here's today's groove,
Just finished groove on 2001 Ford E350 with 5.4 engine. I have yet to drive this a distance, but here's the pre and post mod results: Pre: Hydrocarbons 135 ppm Carbon Monoxide 0.43 % Oxygen 1.1% Carbon Dioxide 13.8% Oxides of Nitrogen 19 ppm Air Fuel Ratio 14.41 Post: HC 17 ppm CO 0.00% O2 0.4% CO2 14.2% NOx 6ppm AFR 14.12 Most of the driving is done by others - this is one of our church vans. I did cap off the PCV system. Time will tell how MPG responds. Scott |

Looks like positive results with the emissions reading, Scott. Lower hydrocarbons, 0 carbon monoxide, and let NOx. I would have liked to see the Oxygen go up and the air fuel ration to go up. This is because less oxygen is being used in the cat to burn up the extra fuel and will read higher. When the air fuel ratio is higher there is less fuel and more air.
Aren't these emissions analyzers fun? Good luck getting the mileage results. Great job! |

Hi Aron!
This is a Ferret 16 5 Gas analyser, with printer. I believe the end user cost is around $6,000. Yea, it's not mine to keep - rats. I live about 17 miles from the manufacturer. In fact, I picted it up friday night from one of the employees. Nick in New York, Mr. Gadgetmanfingerlakes uses one just like it, with out the printer. The one I am using was returned for repair. It's nice because it's portable, hooks up to car battery. Not as expansive as Ron's unit though. On another note, I'll be "grooving" a 2006 Ford F150 this week - any tips? Scott |

Now THIS is the kind of data we've been needing to see!
Score ONE KARMA! I might suggest runtime or engine temps to ensure similar conditions, but this is GOOD STUFF! Good work, Scott. Now I have to get ready for the airport, Herading HOME! |
