Finally had time today to get the groove installed.
Car has 177k miles and averages 35mpg, 5 speed manual. I get normally 35 miles per gallon. I will see if there is better gas millage later this week. The mod was difficult since I had to deal with coolant lines on the TB and had to use some JB Weld for the IAC pathway. Here is the link to the video: Hoping that it will improve my millage quickly since I drive 90 miles a day. |

Nice to see another Toyota mod on here...since my personal license I did my 1995 Toyota Celica ST. Now keep in mind my motor had high mileage and was burning oil badly. So I rebuilt my engine and bored it over, knife edged the crank, and had a fresh head to put on. I know Ron advised against cold air intakes however on that car since it already got 34MPG i decided to leave it. I also have a header on the engine and 2.5" exhaust all the way back. So I actually figured I would loose mileage. I went ahead and put the groove on it...let me tell you even though I do not have a turbo it sure pulls like I do especially in the higher RPM's. The power increase alone was worth it to me.
I will keep you posted on the MPG results. |
