Recently bought an HHO generator from the Mileage Shop. Haven't installed yet, but the installation manual has specific instructions for resetting the ECU for oxygen sensor reading. Thought it would be useful to pass them on (abbreviated):
1.Disconnect both battery cables, leave disconnected for one hour--clears learned memory 2. During last 30 minutes of the one hour, turn and leave ignition key on--opens up all the circuits in memory settings. 3. After step 2, step on brake pedal for 5 seconds--bleeds electrical current out of disconnected battery cables. Turn key off and remove. Vehicle learned memory now completely cleared. 4. Reconnect negative then positive battery cables 5. Start vehicle (turn on HHO system) and immediately take a 30 minute drive--this reprograms oxygen sensors with new information. Have yet to install generator (car already grooved) and try this--no garage, cold and 8 inches of snow on the ground! Comments? |

Yes, that will reset ecu but you dont have to go through all that just pull pos cable off batt use jumper cable and hook pos to gnd pull headlights on wait 30 min plus hook back up and its reset all your doing is draining the cap inside the ecu that controls the learn mode.. This will reset everytime. Good luck with your projects. Let us all know the results. Dan gadgetman Mo.
