In cutting The Gadgetman Groove, you are using a new technology n an old piece of equipment. "Old" because it is not designed with fuel efficiency in mind, rather the opposite.

With this in mind, it is sometimes necessary to re-engineer some components of the average ICE. In this case, it is the Idle Air Control pathway, which is sometimes ducted into the engine in a location where the incoming air has a negative effect on the wave The Gadgetman Groove is trying to accentuate.

Before you perform the modification, you will need to examine the Idle Air Control path. If it enters the intake in the Throttle Body OPPOSITE The Groove, then you probably won't have to do anything to it. It is a good idea to reduce the size of the opening no matter what, but if it's (once again) OPPOSITE The Groove, you may decide to leave it.

If, on the other hand, it enters the airstream AFTER and IN LINE WITH the modification, you will find achieving better mileage extremely unlikely. This is the procedure for dealing with that instance in the modification process.

Performing this modification BEFORE actually machining The Gadgetman Groove is best, but it can be done anytime.

For systems other than the ones as demonstrated here, use your best Gadgetman Sense to reduce the flow to a manageable level. Reducing it to 1/4" Diameter is usually enough to allow the system to operate WITHOUT error codes!

The document is not attached, because I STILL haven't figured out some of the dynamics of the Joomla system. I am looking for help!

Find the document under the Documents section of Gadgetman Land, titled "Rerouting the Idle Air Control Pathway". (www.gadgetmangroove.com/index.php?option...documents&Itemid=850)
