Just got this in, installed it in the Hyundai and took it out for its tuning run. Since it is connected directly to the ECU it gives you readout access to a lot of parameters as well as error codes with reset capability on the fly.

I came across another similar device - The Ultra Gauge. I think it costs less and may do more. Look up www.ultra-gauge.com on the net.

I think the smoke wizard looks like a useful tool. Maybe we could have a discount with a large order. I also ordered the ultra gauge a week ago. I hope I receive it by the weekend.

I did see the Ultra-Gauge prior to purchasing the ScanGauge E but for what ever reason I went with the Scan Gauge... I would have to go back and compare.

It's hard for me to judge or compare any "scan tool" devise. A full fledge scan tool would be nice, but for the information we need - i.e. map, maf, ect, short & long term fuel trims, tps, fuel injector mS, etc., I think basic is probably better If your looking to purchase one. Dan from Missouri counseled me to look for new as buying used may not be up to date and getting up to date may be costly.
I'll continue to use what is available to me untill I can purchase something better. Planning on Grooving a 1999 Malibu with 3.1 this weekend, after I replace the intake gskts, spark plug, wires, and fuel filter. I'll get before and after data as well. Scott Castleberg Pellston, MI |
